this is a comprehensive collection of red norvo's mid-'30s body of work. most of this is just run-of-the-mill big band music, but some of these tracks are stripped down and really showcase his abilities as an excellent vibraphone player and songwriter. songs like "in a mist" and "dance of the octopus" are weird and almost creepy. i really enjoy red norvo's music and i hope you do too. also, here's a great picture of red from 1969.
